We just received our new Native Sun Treecycle reusable bags this week and they turned out great! Our graphic designer Marisa Carta used tree illustrations done by Native Sun Kids Susana McIntosh, age 7 and Edyn Gottlieb, age 9 at our Kids Day event last year as her inspiration. The bags are double sided, so each bag comes with both designs!
Bags are sold for $1 each at the entrance and registers of our stores. Five cents of every bag purchased is donated to Greenscape of Jacksonville, a local non-profit planting trees in our community. Plus! Every time you use ANY reusable bag at Native Sun you’ll receive 5 cents per bag off your total, or you can elect to donate your savings to Greenscape. Since starting our Treecycle program at our inaugural Earth Day event last April, customers have donated over $1500 to Greenscape!
As a special treat we plan to have both Susana and Edyn at our 2nd Annual Earth Day Celebration – The Inside & Out Earth Day Affair on Saturday, April 18 at our Mandarin store from 12 – 4pm. The girls will be at a “Meet the Artists” table where you can ask them about their tree drawings (both have bird’s nests, very interesting!), see the originals compared to our designer’s interpretation, and have them sign your Treecycle bag!
