Charity Dog Wash was a HUGE Success!

This weekend we hosted our first-ever Charity Dog Wash in the “barking lot” of our Mandarin store from 9am to 12pm and had an amazing turnout! Big thanks to all the great volunteers, pups & parents who came out to show their support. We washed over 30 dogs and raised an extra $533.09 for First Coast No More Homeless Pets, our GreenApples Charity of the Month for July!
Our first dog, Dior, showed up at 8:45am and we were slammed all the way until the end of the event, just missing the rain. We had 5 – 6 volunteers washing & drying dogs at all times, and even had to run and get a second hose! After the dogs were washed down with Organic TheraNeem Shampoo – generously donated by Autumn Blum, Owner & Formulator for Organix South – we dried them off with towels donated by our staff (Thanks Beverly & Joey!) and tied a handmade Native Sun bandana around their neck.

Thanks again to Autumn who donated all of the product for the event, Rebekah from Main Street Marketing who passed out goodies from Organix South, Ark Naturals and Castor & Pollux, Erica & friends from the Jacksonville Active Dogs Meetup Group for promoting the event, and our main dog washers David Meyers – Business Development for FCNMP, Nikki – a volunteer with FCNMHP, and our very own Art Director Marisa Carta. We couldn’t have done it without you!

After the event, David took myself, Autumn & her husband on a tour the First Coast No More Homeless Pets facility on Norwood Ave. It was amazing to see all of the staff, doctors and numerous volunteers dedicated to working so hard (on the weekend no less!) to help cure Jacksonville’s desperate animal overpopulation crisis. See my pictures of the facility here.
