We are proud to announce that we recently received a Snail of Approval from Slow Food First Coast! This award is given to restaurants, bars, food and beverage artisans, and retailers to recognize their contributions to the quality, authenticity and sustainability of the food supply of the First Coast region of Florida.
Marcia MacPherson of SFFC said “Slow Food First Coast congratulates Native Sun for its support of local food producers and its role in promoting a good, clean, and fair food supply on the First Coast. We are impressed the store employees’ knowledge about where and how their food is raised and we are happy to award the Snail of Approval emblem and add Native Sun to our Snail of Approval directory.”
SFFC added that Native Sun’s Owner Aaron Gottlieb’s “energy, enthusiasm and passion for what he wants for his store and his community is contagious.” They applauded Native Sun for selling only organic produce, using local, seasonal and organic produce in their prepared foods, selling local, grass-fed meat and cheese, and offering “day boat” caught local & sustainable fish.
